Areas of Emphasis
Depression and Anxiety. Among the most common of health issues today is depression. Depression can be from chemical imbalance or from situational events of the past or present. In both cases is it extremely important to realize that depression can be successfully treated. One of the common symptoms of depression is the feeling of, “I don’t know if I will ever get over this depression.” Depression is treatable in a vast majority of cases.
Stress. Stress caused by various issues including substance abuse, finances, infidelity, problem children, etc. In the real world stress can not be eliminated but we can learn to deal with it on a proper basis. Dealing with stress in a proper manner creates a healthy and happy person.
Marital Problems. All marriages have a certain amount of marital stress. In most cases these marital problems can be resolved by the couple. When marital problems increase in frequency or involve any type of abuse, or if the threat of separation is eminent, counseling is a logical option. Marital counseling can be successful even if only one of the partners is interested in counseling and relationship repair. Marriages can be healed.
Problems in Children and Adolescents. Unhealthy issues, such as defiance, anger, depression and drug or alcohol abuse that are not resolved in early life can create unhealthy lifelong habits and relationships. Dealing with these habits at an early age gives the best assurance of correcting the problem and leading a happy and productive life. Child counseling can be very effective.
Family Relations. Failed family relations in the immediate or extended family can many times be greatly improved with adequate counseling. Even if only one party is open to counseling, relationship improvements can be made.
Family Relations because of substance abuse. Substance abuse affects the whole family. These abuses can have a lasting affect on the abuser’s and the rest of the family. Counseling may be necessary for both the substance abuser and those affected by the abusers lifestyle. This counseling should come early.
Anger. Anger is a symptom of an underlying problem. To properly address the anger issue the source of that anger has to be discovered and dealt with. Counseling may involve both the person who has anger problems and the person(s) to whom the anger is directed.
